Health insurance is considered top priority for students who wish to stay in Germany. Without it you will not be able to enrol at the university.

In case you obtain health insurance from your home country, please make sure that it is recognised and accepted within Germany.

If not, you will be expected to pay approximately 55 Euros per month. You will then be covered for costs like emergency hospital and dentistry treatment, seeing a doctor if you are sick and some specialist treatments. Please note that treatments such as cosmetic surgery and acupuncture will not be covered.
