Throughout their stay in France, international students must have medical cover. The student should therefore have in his possession a form stating that medical costs will be covered during his stay in France. This can be obtained from the social security organization of the student's country of origin.  In the absence of this document, students are required to take out a health insurance plan in France. As an indication, the annual subscription covering health costs or possible hospitalization in France is around 200 €. This option is available to all students.

All students in France must have a civil responsibility insurance. This can be obtained from a student mutual insurance organization (MGEL, MNEF) or when enrolling at INPL (cost : around 15 € per year).

Visits to the doctor and medication have to be paid at the time of the visit.  The cost is 20 € for a general practitioner and 30 € (or more) for a specialist.
